Current Technology Event a.k.a. CTE



Find an article online or in a newspaper/magazine that talks about some form advances in any field that involves technology. I am looking for significant uses of technology that address significant issues:
  • Cutting edge technology in various fields (communications, transportation, medicine, space, etc)
  • Various problems that arise from improving or brand new technology.
  • New gadgets and gizmos.
  • Any sort of science technology, such as brain study work, DNA research, energy technology, etc.

This is exactly what your Current Technology News article should include:
  • your name and class period must be at the top of your CTE
    • worth 5 points each
  • You will need to document your source - the url, the newspaper or magazine edition and page, so that I can find the article myself.
    • worth 10 points
  • a 1 paragraph minimum summary of the article - do NOT copy and paste - I do look for this!
    • ask yourself: who? what? where? when? why? how?
    • write in complete sentences, using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation - as if you were turning this in to your English teacher
  • one or two sentences (but not limited to) giving your personal opinion
    • does the article lead you to ask more questions?
    • what do you think the impact of this technology will be on the people or things that will be affected by this?
    • worth 10 points, again, based on the amount of thought exhibited
